Message from our new President, John Bird,
We need everyone's support as we make this change of leadership in our organization. George and Diane have agreed to continue to support FOG and help me with this overwhelming job. Please make a commitment to help our organization wherever you can. Forward any comments or suggestions to Friends of Garner, HCR 70 Box 599, Concan, Texas 78838.We are looking forward to another great summer of camping at Garner State Park.
There are new trails to hike this summer at Garner. The "Bird Trail" and "Bridges Trail" add new sites to your hiking. The "Bridges Trail" goes by the biggest cedar tree in Texas and the "Bird Trail" opens up the trail above White Rock Cave and ties into the "Foshee Trail".
The park has received much needed rain the first two weeks in June. The Frio River is running well and the park flora is very lush.
The Visitor Center has a showcase of new merchandise. Please stop by when visiting the park to look at our new souvenirs, books, and T-shirts.
As you register for your stay ask about the "Bag Your Trash" campaign. It is in everyone's interest to keep our beloved park clean.
